Wake County School Push Magnet And Early University Fair Saturday

The Wake County school system is to promote the magnet and the early university Saturday fair and a plurality of global media coverage.

In a media adviser last week, awaken invited reporters to arrange the Anderson Powell chat show, the marketing and communications director of magnets, in the promotion of fairness. Consultant told TV news editor Powell will be particularly welcome the opportunity to appear in the morning news broadcast.

In another media advisory last week, Wake invited reported to interview students, teachers and administrators at the Vernon Malone College and Career Academy in advance of the fair. The school board voted last week to add ninth grade to Malone, which is Wake’s first career and technical education high school, in an attempt to boost enrollment.

“It's no secret that enrollment is lower in the first year than anyone would like,” Wake says in the Malone advisory.

Saturday’s fair, from 9 a.m. to noon at Southeast Raleigh High School at 2600 Rock Quarry Road in Raleigh, comes at a crossroads for the magnet program. Magnet applications are down. But Wake recently won a $9.6 million federal magnet school grant and the board voted last week to magnetize five schools to form a new K-12 immersion/global studies pathway.Source:newsobserver.com
